The Nissan Sentra has six trim levels: S, SV, SR, SR Turbo, NISMO®, and SL. A 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 124 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque is used on the SV, SR, and SL trims. It is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission(CVT). The base S model uses the same engine but it is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and produces 130 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. The NISMO® and SR Turbo are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 188-hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.

The Nissan Altima has the following available trims: S, SR, SV, and SL. The base powertrain is a 2.5-liter that produces 188 hp. It is connected to a CVT. The SR and Platinum trims have an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 248-hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. This engine has variable compression which enables it to adjust operation for fuel economy or power. It is mated to a CVT.

Standard Equipment

The Sentra has standard automatic headlights, 16-inch rims, a four-speaker audio system, USB, a backup camera, air conditioning, cruise, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, tilt-telescoping steering wheel, 60/40 split rear seats, and forward collision avoidance.

The Altima is well equipped with the latest technology that buyers want to include Bluetooth, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone integration for Apple and Android, keyless ignition, automatic braking, four USB ports, and remote start. Standard safety features include airbags, a backup camera, and stability and traction control systems.


The Sentra is surprisingly quiet and comfortable for an economy sedan. The cabin controls are conveniently located and easy to use. The high-mounted seats give the driver excellent visibility.
